Women:The New Toddlers of the Food World

July 22nd 2008 04:56

What to feed women, is fast becoming a difficult challenge to the average Saturday night entertainer. Echo's of "I'm not doing carbs this week" or "It's after 6pm, I can't have meat" reverberate around the dining tables of the world. 20-40 something women are the new Toddlers of the food world. They whinge, they are fussy and frankly, like a needy Toddler, they are ruining the average dinner party. The days of a Beef Wellington and Lemon Cheesecake are over. What to feed the ladies is the new food challenge for 2008.

Nowadays you need, low carb, low fat, tasty, unique, organic, part vegetarian, lady friendly nosh for those fussy eaters the 20-40 something women, who are always watching their weight.

My suggestions:

Make it yourself Vietnamese rice paper rolls.

The pros:
1. Carbs are kept to a minimum. So that should keep the anti-carb fascists happy.

2. It's high protein if you serve low fat, high protein meats like lean pork marninated in Hoi Sin and Chilli or chicken breast in ginger, soy and corriander.

3. Suitable for vegetarians, as they are making their own, so vego related whinging should be kept to a minimum.

4. The ladies hands will be busy making their own lunch that endless questions about how much sugar is in the dipping sauce? And is the chicken organic? Will fade away, as the drone of manual labor takes hold.

Never ever serve 20-40 something women (who are watching their weight) the following:

Pastry

fried food

Steak

Meat on bones

Pasta

Dessert of any kind

Always make sure you provide these women with:

Organic meats

Farmers Markets vegetables

Home made sauces

A vegetarian option

"Humane" meats only, no veal

Yours in Food,
The Lady of Nosh
